The community discussion will be led by Ms. Jane Barton, a national expert on aging, caregiving and the highs and lows of life. Ms. Barton’s presentation, “Last Call for Care – What Happens When We Could Care Less” will give caregivers tips on how to recognize and mitigate compassion fatigue. Ms. Barton’s discussion will be followed by a performance by the April Verch Band and an open community jam session.

Workshops:

Far North Fiddle Fest workshops are open to community members ages 7 to adult. A wide variety of sessions will be available for all musicians, from beginner to intermediate and advanced players. All workshops will be held at Door of Hope Church, 270 Fairhill Road in Fairbanks. The 2015 Far North Fiddle Fest Workshop Schedule is now available. To register, please use the secure Pay Pal option below.

All registered participants in the workshops will receive a commemorative 2015 Fiddle Fest t-shirt. Participants may register the day of the event, but the lines will be long. Pre-registration online is recommended. If you are pre-registered, check-in begins 30 minutes before the first session (12:30 on Thursday and Friday, 9:30 am on Saturday).

Benefit Concert:

FMH Hospice Benefit Concert

The 2015 Benefit Concert will be held at Davis Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Complex at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm. All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the FMH Hospice program. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for seniors, military and students and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the Fairbanks Hospital Foundation office or by using the secure Pay Pal option below. You do not need a Pay Pal account to order your tickets online. If you order your tickets prior to September 4th, they will be mailed to you. If you order after September 4th, they will be held for you at Will Call at Davis Concert Hall.
