Buffalo Cancer

The Buffalo Cancer raffle has been arranged by the Fairbanks Hospital Foundation (Permit #3010). Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Circle of Hope campaign that supports breast cancer patients and their families in Fairbanks. Each ticket is $100 and only 300 tickets will be sold. The raffle drawing will be held on October 19, 2015, in the Porter Board Room – FMH 5th floor.

Buffalo Cancer Raffle Rules and Information

List of Prizes 

Grand Prize:  American Bison Hunt hosted by Joe Faulhaber at the Alaska Interior Game Ranch in Delta Junction, Alaska

  • Once-in-a-lifetime hunting experience on 2,000 acres of private, fenced grass and timber land
  • 1 American Bison
  • Hunt must be completed between October 2015 and January 2016
  • Skinning, gutting, quartering of the bison
  • Meat processing and delivery to Fairbanks – area
  • Professional hunter as a guide
  • Package does NOT include taxidermy or travel to/from Delta Junction, AK

First Ticket Drawn:  $500 cash
150th Ticket Drawn:  $1,000 cash

The winners of all raffle prizes are responsibility for all taxes (sales and 1099 other income prize winnings). All winners must provide proper identification when claiming prizes. If the winner elects not to accept any prize, no substitution or exchanges for cash or other goods will be provided.


ALL ticket holders must meet the requirements according to Alaska Gaming Statutes to be eligible to participate and enter. Board members and employees of the Fairbanks Hospital Foundation are not eligible to enter. The Fairbanks Hospital Foundation reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for violation of these Official Rules, any applicable laws, or anyone who makes any misrepresentations relative to this drawing by chance.

Entry In Drawing

Participation in this drawing by chance shall be through ticket sales. Each ticket is $100. A maximum of 300 tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Entries may not be resold and no refunds or replacements will be issued. No entries will be accepted or distributed after October 18, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. (the day before the drawing).

Selection of and Notification to Winner

The winners will be selected at a random drawing in plain view using a raffle drum and the actual ticket stubs in Fairbanks, Alaska on October 19, 2015 at approximately 2:00 p.m. by impartial persons or parties. The drawing will take place in the Porter Board Room, FMH 5th floor. Entrants do not need to be present to win. The winner will be notified by certified mail or telephone, according to the contact information provided to the Fairbanks Hospital Foundation at the time of entry. In the event a winner cannot be contacted, fails to respond within the required time frame, fails to otherwise qualify or the prize and/or declines the prize, an alternate will be selected. If not claimed within 45 days of notification, the winner designee will forfeit any rights to the prize and the same will be awarded to an alternate winner. The alternative winner will be the entry that was drawn immediately prior to the final entry (i.e. if 275 tickets were sold and the person with the winning entry #275 fails to come forward or declines the prize, ticket number drawn #274 will be awarded the prize). The grand prize can be transferred to another person if they meet the eligibility requirements but the winner will receive the 1099 form and will be taxed on the full value of the prize. All 300 tickets, or the total amount sold as of October 18th, 2015 will be drawn from the drum and the prizes will be assigned as outlined above:  ticket #1 – $500, ticket #150 drawn – $1,000 and ticket #300 drawn – grand prize. If 300 tickets are not sold, the last ticket remaining in the drum will be the grand prize winner. The ticket drawn for each prize will decide the winner, this shall be final and binding in all respects.

Use of Winner’s Name and Likeness 

In consideration for being awarded the three prizes, the winners agree and consent, without further authorization, compensation or renumeration of any kind, to the use of such person’s names and/or likenesses in any and all advertising, promotions and other publicity in any media, worldwide, in perpetuity.

Taxes and Deductibility 

Donations or ticket revenue made in connection with this drawing of chance are not tax deductible. All federal, state and local taxes associated with the receipt of the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. All federal, state and local taxes are based on the final actual retail value of the prizes.

Governing Laws

This drawing of chance and these Official Rules will be governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of the State of Alaska. All applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Offer void where prohibited.

Contest Sponsor 

This drawing by chance is a charity drawing held in compliance with the State of Alaska and is sponsored by The Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation, which is a qualified organization exempt from federal income tax pursuant 26 U.S.C. Section 501(c)3. The Fairbanks Hospital Foundation holds a valid Alaska Gaming Permit #3010.

Dispute Resolution 

The Fairbanks Hospital Foundation shall resolve all disputes in its sole and absolute discretion.

General Release 

Each entrant releases Fairbanks Hospital Foundation, participating sponsors and any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents and successors from any liability whatsoever, and waive any and all cause of action, for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with or as a result of participation in this drawing by chance and if the winner, in acceptance, possession or use of the prize (including, without limitation, claim, costs, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a fast light, whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory.
