Care Kits for Kids
Care Kits for Kids:
Supporting Parents at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital
The Care Kits for Kids program is designed to support all parents, whether they are new to parenthood or experienced caregivers. These kits provide essential items that help ensure the health and well-being of their children. Each month, we distribute several different types of kits tailored to meet various needs.
What’s included in the Care Kits?
For the approximately 90 babies born each month, we include a cozy sleep sack in their welcome package. Sleep sacks are not only comfortable but also promote safe sleeping practices, reducing the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
In addition to the sleep sacks, we offer a diverse range of kits that physicians can select based on individual patient needs. These kits may include:
- Fever Relief Kits:
Containing Tylenol and Ibuprofen, these are essential for managing fevers and providing comfort to children during illness.
- Vitamin D Supplements:
These kits help ensure that children receive the necessary nutrients for healthy growth and development, especially in the Interior with limited sunlight exposure.
- NoseFrida Kits:
Designed to help parents manage nasal congestion in infants and young children, these kits provide a safe and effective way to clear mucus and ensure easier breathing.
- Diabetes Management Kits:
For families whose young children receive a diabetes diagnosis, these kits come equipped with essential tools and resources to help manage their condition.
Why Your Support Matters
By offering these various kits, we aim to empower parents with the knowledge and tools they need to care for their children effectively. Our goal is to create a supportive environment that promotes healthy habits from the very beginning, making it easier for families to navigate the challenges of parenthood. Through our Care Kits for Kids program, we are committed to fostering healthier futures for all children in our community.
